Funeral Home
SMITH, Donald S. 74 of Springfield, passed away Sunday November 6, 2005 in his 
residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on December 28, 1930, the son of 
William H. and Charlotte (Berry) Smith. He had served in the Air National 
Guard, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 397, and a member 
of the Pioneer Club. He was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 44 
years, retiring in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Smith; a son and 
favorite daughter-in-law, Ashley and Robin Smith of Springfield; 
granddaughter, Karadie Bowers of Urbana; sisters, Sarah Walters, and Nancy 
Alexander, both of Springfield, and Sylvia Driscoll of Xenia, Ohio; several 
nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Emmitt Shaffer of Urbana and a sister-in-
law, Cleo Shaffer of Springfield. He was well loved by family and his many 
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Thelma 
Smith, a daughter, Alisa K. (Smith) Bowers, three brothers and six sisters. 
Friends may call Tuesday ,November 8, 2005, from 4-7 p.m. in the JACKSON LYTLE 
WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, North Limestone Street, Springfield, A Dignity Memorial 
Provider. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at 10:30 
a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Douglas Thompson officiating. Burial will 
follow in Terre Haute Cemetery
